Sherman, Dawson Fire battle overnight house fire

SHERMAN, Ill. (WCIA) — Firefighters from both Sherman and Dawson spent their Monday evening on the scene of a house fire in Sherman.

Suspected gas explosion, fire leaves two hurt in Springfield

Once on-scene, Dawson Fire said its firefighters assisted with salvage, placing tarps over the homeowners’ belongings to protect them from further damage. A total of eight firefighters were dispatched to assist, spending about an hour-and-a-half on the scene.

Photos posted to the Dawson Fire Protection District’s Facebook page show the firefighters in action. They did not say whether there were any injuries.

WCIA has reached out to both the Dawson and Sherman Fire Protection Districts to learn more details about the fire. We have not heard back yet.
