Shooting in Midtown leaves man dead, woman injured
UPDATE: Memphis Police have released video evidence of the suspect’s vehicle.
As officers were investigating this homicide, they located video evidence of the suspect’s white 2012 Chevrolet Traverse.
In the video, the vehicle drives southbound on Tanglewood and passes 2060 Felix Ave. Police say that’s when the occupants of the Traverse fired multiple shots at the residence, including the one that struck the victim.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead and a woman is injured after an overnight shooting in the Cooper-Young area of Midtown.
Officers say they responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Felix Avenue at 12:20 a.m. A man was pronounced dead on the scene.
A woman was taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition.
Neighbors say the home where the shooting took place has been a short-term rental for a while, but it has never been a problem before.
“There are several [short-term rentals] around the neighborhood. I heard some of them maybe have problems, but I have not heard of any close to me that have,” said a neighbor.
Neighbors say last night there was a party at the house, which is now riddled with bullet holes.
“Obviously, Memphis has some gun violence, but I do not know if they were from out of town or if they are from Memphis. I don’t know,” said the neighbor.
We reached out to Airbnb, and they told us in an email that the property at this address had not been rented out via their platform at the time this incident happened.
This is still an ongoing investigation. MPD says the suspect’s vehicle was a white mid-size SUV.
