Shooting in North Topeka leads to one person dead

TOPEKA (KSNT) – One person is dead after a shooting in North Topeka on Saturday, July 13.

Around 11:20 a.m., officers with the Topeka Police Department (TPD) responded to the 1200 block of Northeast Monroe in reference to a shooting.

According to a press release from TPD, when officers arrived they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

This investigation is ongoing, becoming the ninth homicide investigation of 2024.
