Silent Witness producer shares show changes ahead of season 27
Silent Witness producer Jayne Chard has revealed how the show has undergone major changes ahead of season 27.
Speaking to HELLO! about her work on the long-running crime drama, Chard explained that the team had made several changes to the set and character wardrobes as well as bringing in new production techniques.
Sharing that the show will be using virtual production methods for the first time ever, the producer said: "That's going to be a new and exciting way forward that has never happened on this show before.
"It's just going to really expand what we can do in series 28."

Production is currently underway for the new season, with Chard joined by Production Designer Paul Booth and Costume Designer Adam Howe.
Speaking about updates to the set and character wardrobes, Howe explained how he'd updated the costumes for Emilia Fox's Nikki Alexander by binging in more colourful pieces.
There's also new clothes for Jack Hodgson's (David Caves) niece Cara to reflect the character's growth. "She's really blossoming and she looks great and confident," he said of the costume update.
The wardrobes aren't the only place to get an injection of colour either, with forensic pathology centre The Lyell set to appear brighter in the new episodes.

"It's a great set and a great space, we just tweaked it a little bit," Booth added. "The actual set is very impressive, with different work areas. It was just trying to amalgamate it all."
