Skeletal remains found in Two Rivers will ‘take some time to identify’
TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Two Rivers want to inform the public that the skeletal remains found in Two Rivers on Saturday will take time to positively identify.
Although the skeletal remains were located in Manitowoc County and are being investigated by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, the Two Rivers Police Department says they’ve been working closely with them from the beginning and will continue to work together, as well as with outside agencies, to identify the remains.
“We understand there are many questions surrounding the identity of the remains, but this is an ongoing investigation, and we are unable to provide specific information regarding the race, sex, or age,” stated Captain Andrew Raatz with the Two Rivers Police Department.
Additionally, law enforcement wanted to tell the public that the identification process can take some time, meaning it could be days before finding out whose remains were found.
“We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding,” concluded Captain Raatz.
