Sky's new show Day of the Jackal from Top Boy creator gets first look
Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett's new thriller series The Day of the Jackal has unveiled its first look.
The series, which is coming to Sky and NOW in the UK this November, is an adaptation of Frederick Forsyth's classic novel, with Eddie Redmayne in the leading role.
The Oscar winner plays an elusive assassin known as The Jackal, who leases out his killer services to the highest bidder. For years, no intelligence agencies have been able to catch him… but that could change.
The Marvels and The Woman King's Lashana Lynch co-stars as British intelligence officer Bianca, who is on the verge of bringing down this international criminal.

Game of Thrones and Luther filmmaker Brian Kirk has directed this contemporary adaptation of The Day of the Jackal, which has been adapted as a feature film multiple times.
The supporting cast for this TV version includes Mr. & Mrs. Smith's úrsula Corberó, The Crown's Charles Dance, Richard Dormer from Game of Thrones, and Peacemaker's Chukwudi Iwuji.
This 10-part series had an ambitious international filming schedule, as episodes were shot in Budapest, Vienna and multiple cities in Croatia.

This will be Eddie Redmayne's first regular TV drama role since appearing in the two-part television special Birdsong back in 2012. Since then, he has won an Oscar, a BAFTA Film Award, and a Tony Award for his incredible screen and stage work.
His co-star Lashana Lynch won the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2022 and memorably played the new 007 in No Time to Die. Her TV credits include Still Star-Crossed and Bulletproof.
The Day of the Jackal will premiere on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK (and Peacock in the US) on November 7, 2024.
