Springdale man accused of robbing Fayetteville bank pleads not guilty
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Springdale man accused of robbing a Fayetteville bank last month has pleaded not guilty, according to court documents.
Scott Walker, 52, was arrested on June 18 on aggravated robbery, theft of property, threatening to create a catastrophe, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and fleeing charges. He is also facing a parole violation, according to his booking,
On June 17, Fayetteville police responded to a bank robbery involving a bomb, according to a preliminary report.
The report said Walker placed a fake bomb on the counter at United Bank and demanded money, saying he had an earpiece in and would detonate the bomb if the police were called.3

Walker was reportedly wearing a bright orange at the time of the incident and changed into a gray shirt. He rode a bike before hopping onto public transit.
An investigator on the bus spoke with Walker but was not told about his change of appearance. The investigator got Walker’s name and police were able to search his home due to an active search warrant.
During the search, authorities found materials relevant to the fake bomb and clothing matching the description during the robbery.
Walker was later found by Springdale police with a bag containing “a large sum of money” and later admitted to robbing the bank.
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond and his trial date is set for July 25.
