Springfield is getting a second Olive Garden. Here's when, where to expect it

Springfield will be home to a second Olive Garden next year.

The Italian restaurant chain will open its second Springfield location at 3370 W. Sunshine St., according to city permits. The restaurant will be located near the new Super Target at the intersection of West Bypass and Sunshine Street.

The restaurant is expected to open in summer 2025, Olive Garden Communications Manager Brittany Baron told the News-Leader.

Springfield's current Olive Garden restaurant operates at 3105 S. Glenstone Ave.

The Olive Garden and Super Target are a part of the Sunshine Towne Center, a 23-acre development site on the west side of town. The Super Target will be 148,000 square feet, which is 30,000 square feet larger than Springfield's current Target at 1825 E. Primrose St. The Super Target will feature a full grocery section (which is what differentiates it from a regular Target), in addition to a drive-through fulfillment center for pickup and delivery orders. The new Target is expected to open in April 2025.

In addition to Olive Garden and Target, the Sunshine Towne Center will feature three standalone parcels.

The Sunshine Towne Center development is expected to generate $60 to $70 million in annual sales, with $45 to $55 million of that coming from Target alone, according to previous News-Leader reporting.
