Star Trek actor William Shatner set to return to Motor City Comic Con on May 16
Star Trek star William Shatner will soon be back in town for Motor City Comic Con, amid recent speaking appearances chronicling his 2021 trip to space on Jeff Bezos' shuttle.
This year, the event will feature celebrity appearances from actors like Shatner and Efren Ramirez, known for "Napoleon Dynamite," and actress Katee Sackhoff, known for "The Mandalorian." Sackhoff will host a live podcast recording at the convention on May 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets run from $30 to $60 based on seating. The convention will also feature a variety of comic book author guests.
The annual Motor City Comic Con happens every spring and fall, featuring actors, creative artists, writers, and comic book creators. Attendees can experience panel discussions, check out their favorite comic books, and meet their favorite artists.
Shatner previously attended Motor City Comic Con in 2014, 2015 and 2022. He also visited the Redford Theatre in Detroit on March 11, 2023, for a showing of "Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan."
The convention will host its annual adult cosplay contest on May 18 at 6 p.m. and a children's cosplay contest on May 19. Prizes for the adult contest include cash, autographed photos, and MC3 fall passes.
Motor City Comic Con will run May 17-19 at the Suburban Showplace Collection in Novi. Tickets are for sale online.
