You can start taking Milwaukee's streetcar to the lakefront next week
Milwaukee's streetcar, The Hop, will fully open its 2-mile expansion with access to the lakefront starting April 11, The Hop announced Wednesday.
The Hop's L-Line first opened on a limited basis last October, providing service only on Sunday and without stopping at the Lakefront station during ongoing construction of the The Couture high-rise. Here's what you need to know about the line:
When does the Hop's L-Line fully open?
Starting April 11 at noon, L-Line service will expand to seven days per week.
What is The Hop L-line route and its schedule?
The 2-mile route provides service every 20 minutes to existing stations at Wisconsin Avenue northbound and southbound, City Hall northbound and southbound, Historic Third Ward eastbound, and new stations Michigan at Jackson eastbound, Clybourn at Jefferson westbound and the Lakefront inside the Couture transit plaza.
How to ride The Hop:
The Hop M-Line operates Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Streetcars arrive every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 20 minutes during off peak hours and on Sunday.
Beginning April 11 at noon, L-Line service will expand to seven days per week, mirroring the M-Line's existing hours of operation.

Rides are free, no tickets are needed.
