'Stay alert': See large sinkhole that formed in Florida in wake of Hurricane Milton
Florida continues to feel the effects of Hurricane Milton, including in Hillsborough County where a giant sinkhole has been spotted and taped off.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office advised the public to "stay alert" as a massive sinkhole opened at the intersection of Irish Moss Avenue and Pond Pine Drive, according to a Facebook post shared by the department on Thursday.
The sinkhole, which can "expand without warning," is blocking residents, the sheriff's office said.
In addition to staying away from the sinkhole, the sheriff's office told people to "avoid touching downed wires and be cautious of potential hazards."
Other sinkholes have been reported across Florida following Milton, including in Polk County, Fox Weather reported. That hole opened between two homes in a community between Lakeland and Zephyrhills.
