Stephen A. Smith Wants Kamala Harris To Talk More
When President Joe Biden announced that he would be stepping down and throwing his support to Vice President Kamala Harris, one of his most vocal supporters was sports anchor Stephen A. Smith. While the ball analyst hasn’t wavered politically, Harris isn’t talking enough for him, and he’s once again speaking on it.
“We’ve had one week, two weeks, three weeks and one day since Joe Biden stepped aside,” Smith began. “The only damn place we’ve seen Kamala Harris is at pep rallies. What’s up? Somebody gotta say something and it can’t just be the conservatives. Right is right.”
VP candidate for the GOP approached Kamala Harris on a tarmac about not speaking as much, or answering questions in a way he thought she should. VIBE reported on that incident.
“(I) wanted to go say hello to the vice president and ask her why does she refuse to answer questions,” Vance said when approached about the confrontation at the tarmac.
The question arise as to whether Harris owes her constituents answers? Both sides are torn. Rapper Meek Mill has expressed wanting to ask the VP about her alleged conviction rate during her former attorney general-ship.
“I wanna ask Kamala Harris questions about her past as a da, even if she had to be tough…. All I hear is rumors of her …” he tweeted.
Smith, who in a plea to Harris, refers to her as his “sister,” says “You’re running for the presidency of The United States of America. You got my vote. You’re running for the presidency of the United States of America. What you hiding for?”
Smith says the VP is hiding in plain sight by not answering the most basic of questions—as he insinuates—adding, “That’s not fair. That’s not fair.”
There was a debate about a debate—having to do with the network that would host the first showdown between Harris and Trump. It was decided that ABC will host the first debate on September 10. Walz and Vance will have a debate hosted by CBS on October 1. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to take place in Chicago Aug. 19-22.
