Steve Gleason ‘stable’ after being brought to hospital during Hurricane Francine
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Former New Orleans Saint Steve Gleason was reportedly hospitalized during the hours of Hurricane Francine.
In a post to social media, Gleason’s team reported he was taken to Ochsner on Wednesday night, Sept. 11.
As of Thursday, Sept. 12, he was listed in stable condition.

The post read: “We want to thank the New Orleans Fire Department first responders and New Orleans EMS for getting to us during unsafe circumstances and the Ochsner Health staff for their immediate care.”
It is unknown why Gleason was taken to the hospital but his team said they will update the public as more information is made available.

Back in July, Gleason received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award for his contribution to ALS awareness.
He retired in 2008 before announcing his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
