Suspect in armed robbery, police chase arrested and charged in NW Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A suspect wanted in an armed robbery that led to a police chase was arrested, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
Shortly after noon, CMPD’s Real Time Crime Center located the vehicle of a suspect who had just committed an armed robbery in the 5700 block of North Graham Street.
Officers attempted a traffic stop but the suspect fled, initiating a vehicle pursuit.
Around 12:16 p.m., the suspect collided with a third-party vehicle at Hoskins Road and Rozzelles Ferry Road.
Despite the crash, the suspect did not stop and continued to elude officers.
The pursuit ended minutes later, the suspect was apprehended at I-85 and Brookshire Boulevard.
The suspect Robert Vaughn, 44 is facing charges including:
Armed Robbery
Felony Flee to Elude
Felony Hit and Run
Vaughn was also wanted on several active warrants including Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
The citizen in the vehicle struck by the suspect was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
