Suspect crashes into Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office vehicles amid Metairie chase
JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man is facing several charges after crashing into Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office vehicles during a chase through Metairie on Monday, July 1.
According to the JSPO, deputies spotted a driver that was a wanted suspect “in connection with an earlier investigation” near the intersection of Independence and El Dorado streets around 11:30 a.m.

When the deputies tried to pull the suspect over, they said he refused to and started a chase that resulted in the suspect crashing into two JPSO vehicles and one uninvolved person’s vehicle.
The chase continued into the intersection of Transcontinental Drive and Quincy Street until the suspect’s car stopped working.
The suspect, a Metairie man, refused to get out of the vehicle. JPSO deputies said that an officer sustained “minor lacerations” when they were “forced to break the driver’s window” to get him out of the car. JPSO deputies had to tase the suspect to take him into custody.

According to JPSO, the deputy was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is reported to be in “stable condition.” The driver of the uninvolved vehicle and the suspect were taken to a hospital for injuries related to the crash.
The JPSO reported that the suspect will face multiple charges, which include resisting an officer, aggravated assault of a peace officer and aggravated flight.
