CLEVELAND (WJW) — Cleveland police have identified the suspect in a hit-and-run that killed a 7-year-old boy earlier this month.
A felony arrest warrant is out now for 32-year-old Donald H. Mynatt on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with a child fatality, according to a Wednesday news release from Cleveland police.

Mynatt was allegedly the driver of a black SUV with tinted windows that struck 7-year-old Amir Prewitt just before 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, while the boy was riding his skateboard in the driveway of a parking lot in the 16000 block of Lakeshore Boulevard.
Prewitt was dragged under the vehicle, which then fled the scene. Prewitt was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Prewitt was about to start second grade at St. Thomas Aquinas School in Cleveland, FOX 8 News previously reported.
“When our joy is so big it radiates through us, when we catch ourselves being silly without inhibition, when we smile so hard it hurts, it’ll be because Amir showed us how. We’ll miss you so much but will never forget you,” the school posted to Instagram.
