'Suspicious death': Body found in Augusta home's backyard

The Richmond County Coroner's Office confirmed a body was found Monday in an Augusta home's backyard.

The body was found at a vacant home on the 3000 block of Abelia Drive, according to a news release.

The deceased, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:15 a.m., according to the release. An autopsy has been scheduled.

In the news release, the coroner labeled the death as "suspicious."
