“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” she wrote in a lengthy post. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
Swift then shared she would be casting her vote for Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 election.
“Swifties for Kamala (S4K) is thrilled about Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris for president and Tim Walz for vice president. As previously stated, we never doubted Taylor would endorse at the right time because we know that her values align with Harris and our community. We are excited to see the momentum she will bring to this campaign.”
The coalition noted that since forming, it has “amassed more than 3,500 active volunteers, gained over 280,000 social media followers, raised over $150,000 for the Harris campaign and “mobilized over 90,000 people to take action to check their voter registration.”
“Through a partnership with Shop Social Goods, we have also been able to donate over $13,000 to voter registration efforts.”
“We’re confident Taylor’s words will have a positive impact and encourage more people to join us in our mission to elect Vice President Harris. Taylor has always inspired us Swifties to be Fearless and to Speak Now, and we’re excited to take these efforts to the next level as we sprint to the end of this critical election. We will continue to mobilize our volunteers and activate our community with voter outreach efforts.”

With Swift’s Harris-Walz endorsement coming the night of the Harris-Trump presidential debate, it will be harder to pinpoint the Swift effect, with her message coming during such a pivotal night in the election cycle. Her first public political endorsement in 2018, when she endorsed two Democratic candidates in Tennessee, led to a registration surge, Vote.org tracked at the time.
As of this story publishing, however, nearly 1.5M of Swift’s 283 million followers had liked her endorsement post and as of Wednesday morning, the Swift-inspired Harris-Walz friendship bracelets had sold out on KamalaHarris.com. A purchase goes to a donation to the Harris Victory Fund.
While appearing on Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning, Trump addressed the potentially powerful endorsement from Swift.
“I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump told the hosts. “It was just a question of time. She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden … But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Trump then praised soccer player Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, for liking one of his posts on X (formerly Twitter). Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is the Chiefs’ tight end.
