TakeOff North America 2024 takes flight at Lambeau Field
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Aviation industry leaders and airline executives gathered at Lambeau Field this week for TakeOff North America 2024, an event dedicated to shaping the future of air travel.
Held in Green Bay for the first time, the conference provided a platform for local leaders to showcase the region’s contributions to the industry’s growth and development.

Marty Piette, Airport Director at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, emphasized the significance of hosting the event locally.
“They can see the growth, they can see the commitment and the partnerships that we have with our key stakeholders, whether it’s the Chamber of Commerce or Discover Green Bay,” Piette said. “Those relationships are critical when they’re making their next decision, so I think having them here will benefit us.”
Piette noted that the airport saw nearly 10% growth in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching pre-pandemic levels. This resurgence reflects a broader trend among Wisconsin airports that are experiencing record passenger numbers and expanding services.
Matthew Cornelius, Executive Vice President of Airports Council International North America, praised Green Bay’s achievements.
“This morning was a great opportunity for local leaders to share all the exciting things happening here,” Cornelius said. “Other communities can learn from Green Bay’s success and bring those insights back home.”
The event, running from October 22 to 24, brings together airports, airlines, and suppliers from across North America to discuss innovations and strategies for advancing air travel in the region.

Piette encouraged the community to continue supporting air services to maintain momentum. “The more demand we have, the more services we can add,” he said.
With the conference in full swing, Green Bay has put its best foot forward, demonstrating its role in shaping the future of the aviation industry.
