I-90 slowly re-opening after tanker fire causes closure
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An entire section of I-90 is closed on Tuesday morning due to a tanker fire.
The eastbound lane on the Thruway between exit 48 in Batavia and exit 46 outside of Rochester is closed. The tanker is on fire in the area of exit 47 in Le Roy.
The westbound lane was closed for a time, but re-opened around 9 a.m. Tuesday. In addition, one lane on the eastbound side was re-opened.
Crews can be seen on camera responding as of just after 8 a.m. It is unclear when the road will open back up.
