I-Team: Chronic Downtown Cleveland thief locked up, for now
CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Fox 8 News I-Team has found that a downtown thief is being held in jail, at least for now.
Brian Bodenschatz has been arrested again and again. Now, he sits behind bars in the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutors said he’ll have to stay in jail until his newest case gets resolved or goes to trial.
This week, the I-Team watched to see what happened this time when Bodenschatz went before a judge. He had to appear for a hearing for violating probation, once more.
In 2023 the I-Team reported that he had been arrested repeatedly for breaking into cars downtown. He was ordered to get drug and alcohol treatment and given probation.
Bodneschatz told Judge Brian Mooney he would not fight the charges tied to violating probation.

The Judge said, “There may be more cases coming, so. With that in mind, is it your desire, sir, you want to waive your probable cause hearing? I warned you. The neighborhood knows you. The Police know you.”
If convicted in the new case, Bodenschatz would be sentenced for that and violating probation all at once.
