According to previous reporting, the shooting, which happened on Independence Day at the Academy Sports + Outdoors in the Festival Centre around 4 p.m., resulted in the death of 22-year-old DaShaun Bonner. We spoke with Bonner’s family in July.

“He just loved everybody. He’s a family man. He played basketball. All he wanted was the best for everybody,” said Bonner’s cousin Benjamin Smith. “It didn’t make me more fearful because I don’t expect things like this to happen in the world.”

MPD said this remains an active investigation and that no other information will be released at this time.

Anyone with information on Ridge’s whereabouts or the case can contact the Mobile Police Department at  251-208-7211.
