Tennessee Voices, Episode 317: Marcus Williams, community banking director, First Farmers
Nashville continues to be a popular place for visitors and transplants alike, with tourism spending heating up and the housing market still strong even with rising interest rates and economic uncertainty.
People are still moving here, but affordability can be an issue for longtime residents who want to enjoy Music City and new residents who want to find their place here.
In August, Marcus D. Williams wrote a guest opinion column titled "Here are five things to consider when planning to move to Nashville." Williams, the Nashville community banking director for First Farmers, shared some practical tips.
On this episode of the Tennessee Voices video podcast, Williams elaborated on his tips and shared his origin story as well as why working with the community is so important to him.
"I wanted to be able to take care of people," he said.
As for people who might be discouraged about how to afford to live in Nashville, he encourages them to be patient, make an informed plan and not give up on their dreams.
