Danny Trejo has announced he is launching restaurant Trejo's Tacos in the UK
Celebrity-owned restaurants are more common than the public might think, with actors, footballers, directors and all manner of people in the entertainment industry taking a shot at the restaurant business.
Danny Trejo is the latest celebrity to announce he is opening a restaurant in London, but the Machete actor is by no means the first or ā probably ā the last to do so.
Celebrities like Nicholas Braun, Bad Bunny, Norman Reedus, and Channing Tatum own restaurants and bars stateside, and several have choosen to take their ventures across the pond.
From Mark Wahlberg to Sir Ian McKellen, there are several eateries and trendy bars that have a famous owner. Here are some of the stars that have made their mark on the restaurant industry in the UK.

Danny Trejo: Trejo's Tacos
As already mentioned, Trejo is opening a Trejo's Tacos restaurant in London, the actor's business venture has already been immensely popular in the US so he has set his sights on doing the same in the UK.

Trejo's first UK restaurant will be opened on west London's Portobello Road, and it is expected to be a two-storey eatery that can sit 70 customers inside and 30 for alfresco dining.
The restaurant will serve food both during the day and night, and it will also have "an opulent cocktail bar" for people to enjoy.
Ian McKellen: The Grapes
McKellen co-owns a pub in Limehouse named The Grapes, where patrons can enjoy classic British pub food and drinks in a quaint 16th century building.
The pub has a regular quiz night, which McKellen will sometimes attend, and the location will also be of interest to fans of The Lord of the Rings because one of the prop staffs that the actor used whilst playing Gandalf is on display.
Ed Sheeran: Bertie Blossoms
Musician Ed Sheeran has a number of business ventures, including a successful hot sauce brand, and one of them is a pub named Bertie Blossoms.
The pub is situated on Portobello Road in Notting Hill, and its menu features a wide selection of different food from classic pub dishes to tapas.
Idris Elba: The Parrot, Porte Noire
Idris Elba co-owns a number of restaurants and bars in London, including Porte Noir in King's Cross and The Parrot in Aldwych.
The Parrot is a rainforest-themed cocktail bar that boasts chic interiors and has live music for patrons to enjoy as they sip their drinks.
Robert De Niro: Nobu
Probably the most famous celebrity-owned restaurant is Nobu, which Robert De Niro co-owns with chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper.
The restaurant has become a hotspot for stars, and there are a number of locations around the world including three in London in Portman Square, Old Park Lane, and Shoreditch.
Mark Wahlberg: Wahlburgers
For something a bit more mainstream look no further than Mark Wahlberg's burger chain Wahlburgers, which he owns with his brothers Paul and Donnie.
The restaurant previously had a location in London but this shut down in 2020 amid the COVID pandemic, however those wanting to try Wahlburgers can do so at locations in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
David Beckham: The Walmer Castle
Since leaving the life of professional football behind him, David Beckham has looked towards other business ventures and one of them is his pub named The Walmer Castle which he co-owns with good friend Guy Ritchie.
The pub is based in Notting Hill and boasts an array of classic British pub food as well as heightened versions of dishes like duck confit.
Guy Ritchie: Lore of the Land
The Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels filmmaker has another pub that he owns named Lore of the Land, which reopened in 2021 after a fire broke out.
Ritchie's pub is another staple eatery for those looking for classic British cuisine, and it is based in Fitzrovia, London.
James Blunt: The Fox and Pheasant
Another singer to take their chance at launching a restaurant is James Blunt, who owns The Fox and Pheasant pub in Chelsea with his wife Sofia.
The restaurant has everything you'd want from a British pub with an added touch of glamour, and there is also a Sunday Roast menu available on the weekend.
