Good news, geezers and geez-ettes. The Gentlemen season 2 is on its way to Netflix, with Guy Ritchie returning to steer this dodgy ship once more.

The show is a serialised spin-off of Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name which starred the likes of Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam.

None of those folks have returned for the small-screen iteration just yet. Instead, Ritchie brought The White Lotus star Theo James into the mix as a posh former Army captain who inadvertently inherits a weed empire.

Season one showed audiences how he handled his new-found business and encounters with various shady crime bosses and gangster families. With The Gentlemen season 2, Ritchie promises more of the same — only bigger.

Here’s everything we know about it so far…

The Gentlemen season 2 is currently without a release date.

However, when it’s ready, the show will air on Netflix and consist of eight episodes with Ritchie returning to direct and co-write with screenwriter Matthew Read.

Season 1 of The Gentlemen saw former military man Eddie (James) return home to find his father, the Duke of Halstead, has died and that he has inherited both his title and huge country estate.

However, before he has time to get used to his new life, he discovers that the stately home is actually a front for a huge weed farm which operates from under the premises — something that he’s now a part of.

Despite being a bit wary of trading in his life of service for a criminal career, Eddie soon gets pulled into the gangster lifestyle by the weed farm’s owner Suzie (Kaya Scodelario), daughter of notorious crime boss Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone).

By the end of the show’s first run of episodes, Eddie has embraced this unlikely life, landing himself the new job of co-owner.

According to Netflix, plot details for season 2 are still stashed away in a safe house - but the show’s cast think that big things are on the horizon.

“It’d be fun to see the business spread a bit more,” Scodelario previously told Netflix. “How do they take it to the next level?

“They’re very adamant about not getting into the chop game, so how do they then continue to build the empire? Where does that take them? How does the new structure of the business work practically?”

James has been confirmed to return as newly-minted gangster Eddie Horniman, with Scodelario also back as his partner-in-crime Suzie. Daniel Ings, who plays Eddie’s flakey brother Freddy, will also return to the family business for new episodes.

Unfortunately, no one else has been officially confirmed to return for The Gentlemen season 2 thus far.

That said, we’re sure more people will be back. Season 1 introduced us to an array of wild characters, from comedian Peter Serafinowicz as the head of a Scouse crime family to Gus Khan’s money launderer Chucky. Breaking Bad and The Boys star Giancarlo Esposito stepped into the role of villainous wine aristocrat Stanley Johnston.

It’s clear Ritchie is building a sprawling world — one that’s bound to expand with The Gentlemen season 2 as new names are announced.
