Three accused in Kenner home burglary arrested in separate states

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — The Kenner Police Department announced that all three suspects involved in a Kenner armed home burglary have been located and arrested.
On Wednesday, Aug. 14, Kenner officers announced that Kevin Sanchez, Kevin Alberto-Castro and Jesus Castillo-Ruiz were apprehended.
On July 27, officers said the three allegedly entered a home in the 5300 block of Toby Lane through an unlocked door, armed with AK-style rifles and a handgun.

The incident was captured on a home surveillance camera system. The homeowner told officers that it appeared the subjects were familiar with the home, as they went into the bedroom and allegedly stole a handgun and jewelry.
Kenner officers added that there was someone asleep on the second floor at the time but was unaware of the burglary happening downstairs.

In collaboration with the United States Marshalls Service Sanchez and Alberto-Castro were captured in Florida while Castillo-Ruiz was located in North Carolina.
All three are facing a charge each of aggravated burglary.
Officers say they are awaiting extradition to Louisiana where they will be prosecuted.
