Three people dead after White Hall armed standoff Saturday

WHITE HALL, Ark. – White Hall police say three people are dead after a Saturday afternoon armed standoff.

According to investigators, officers responded to reports of a man who barricaded himself in a home on Lakeview Drive after killing two others inside.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team responded and was able to make contact but was unable to get him to come out.

Investigators said SWAT team members were able to gain entry to the home around 6:45 p.m. after hearing a gunshot inside the home and established that the two people who were shot had died from their injuries. Police said the suspect was also found dead inside the home.

A coroner identified the victims as 52-year-old Patrice McDaniel and her 14-year-old daughter, who both died from gunshot wounds. Also, 52-year-old Jason Rogers is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said all three individuals were transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing.
