Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz is scheduled to rally in Asheville tomorrow afternoon, Sept. 17, the Harris-Walz Campaign announced Sept. 14.

Vice President Kamala Harris visited Greensboro and Charlotte, North Carolina, less than a week ago on Sept. 12, vying to win over voters in the swing state. During the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump won NC by a thin margin, with 49.9% of the vote. Most recent polling averages for 2024 from RealClearPolling put Vice President Kamala Harris only one-10th of a percent behind Trump.

When will Tim Walz speak in Asheville?

The event webpage has the event scheduled sometime between 2-7 p.m., but an exact start time has not been announced. Governor Tim Walz is set to arrive in Asheville at 4:30 p.m. after earlier appearances in Macon and Atlanta, Georgia.

Sept. 17 road closures

Road closures are expected for Sept. 17 along I-26, from the Asheville Regional Airport to the venue and back. Samantha Booth, representative for the Asheville Police Department, told the Citizen Times that exact timing for the "rolling closures" will only be confirmed shortly before they occur.

How to get tickets to Sept. 17 Walz rally

Tickets for the event were available online. However, as of Sept. 16, the event is already at capacity.
