What time does election coverage come on TV? See evening broadcast plans for popular networks

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have made their final pitches to voters and Election Day is here, as Americans across the country head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes.

For more information on voting and voter registration, ou can check USA TODAY's voter guide or visit Vote.gov and USA.gov. Registration is open through Election Day in some states.

Many news networks will have election-related broadcast plans throughout the day on Tuesday, but if you are planning to watch election coverage at home after you vote, here's when you can tune in to each network's Election Night programming this year.

NBC

NBC will offer "Decision 2024" election coverage across NBC, NBC News NOW and NBCNews.com beginning Tuesday, Nov. 5, the network announced.

NBC News will offer 24 hours of consecutive live coverage to viewers on their local NBC stations beginning at 5 p.m. ET on Election Day, according to the network. NBC News NOW will offer live programming for more than 40 hours, beginning at 7 a.m. ET Tuesday and continuing late into Wednesday evening.

"NBC Nightly News" anchor Lester Holt and "TODAY" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie will lead rolling special coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET, joined by "Meet the Press" moderator Kristen Welker, "Hallie Jackson NOW" anchor Hallie Jackson and "Top Story" anchor Tom Llamas.

CNN

Starting at 4 p.m. ET on Election Day, "Election Night in America" special coverage will be anchored by Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper, who will be joined by Dana Bash, Erin Burnett, Audie Cornish and Chris Wallace, according to the network, with John King at the "Magic Wall" breaking down election results for audiences as ballots are counted across the country.

CNN announced the network will provide around-the-clock special coverage from the CNN Election Center in Washington, D.C., as well as New York City, "with reporters stationed across the country for on-the-ground updates from battleground states, polling places and campaign headquarters."

Kaitlan Collins will anchor live from the Trump campaign headquarters along with Kristen Holmes reporting, while Abby Phillip will anchor live from the Harris campaign with Jeff Zeleny reporting.

Fox News

Beginning at 6 p.m. ET on Election Day, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will co-anchor "FOX News Democracy 2024" as election results begin to come in, the network announced.

"America's Newsroom" co-anchor Bill Hemmer will held the "Bill"-board, delivering viewers "election data county-by-county and state-by-state throughout the evening," the network said.

"The Faulkner Focus" anchor Harris Faulkner will showcase voters' voices during FOX News Channel's coverage, speaking with "a live audience of voters about the issues that impact them the most," according to the network.

CBS News

Primetime election coverage on CBS and CBS News 24/7 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Election Day, anchored by Norah O'Donnell from CBS News' election headquarters in New York City, according to the network. O'Donnell will be joined at the anchor desk by Margaret Brennan, John Dickerson, Gayle King, Cecilia Vega, Robert Costa and Ed O'Keefe.

Nancy Cordes and Ed Gordon will report from the Harris/Walz election night headquarters in Washington, D.C. and Tony Dokoupil and Caitlin Huey-Burns will report from the Trump/Vance election night headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to the network.

Maurice DuBois will report on the "Paths to 270" for each presidential candidate throughout the night and Scott MacFarlane will report in-studio on the battle for control of the U.S. Senate and House.

ABC News

ABC News announced Thursday over 72 hours of "comprehensive coverage" of the 2024 election with special programming on ABC, ABC News Live and ABC News Digital properties, such as the ABC News app.

Starting at 7 p.m. ET on Election Day, "World News Tonight" anchor and managing editor David Muir will lead the network's coverage, ABC News said in a news release.

Muir will be joined by the likes of Linsey Davis, Martha Raddatz, Jonathan Karl and Mary Bruce, among others. ABC News said anchors and correspondents will report from across the country, as well as from both election night presidential campaign headquarters, bringing viewers "the latest updates from key races and battleground states." Donna Brazile, Chris Christie and Reince Priebus will also provide analysis for the network.

MSNBC

Starting at 6 p.m. ET, Rachel Maddow will lead MSNBC's special primetime election coverage live from MSNBC Headquarters in New York City, the network announced Wednesday.

Maddow will be joined by Nicolle Wallace, Ari Melber, Joy Reid, Chris Hayes, Alex Wagner, Lawrence O'Donnell, Stephanie Rhule and Jen Psaki, according to the network.

Throughout the day Tuesday, NBC News and MSNBC National Political Correspondent Steve Kornacki will be at the "Big Board" breaking down the latest state-by-state results.

CNBC

Starting at 7 p.m. ET on Election Day, Carl Quintanilla will anchor "Your Money, Your Vote" from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and be joined by other CNBC journalists, including Jim Cramer and Sara Eisen, to "interview the experts guiding the audience into the post-election economy," the network announced last week.

Scott Wapner will also host a panel of traders debating real-time trading ideas and interview some "big names" in private equity, the bond market and real estate.

NewsNation

On Election Night, NewsNation will present "NewsNation Decision Desk 2024," co-anchored by Chris Cuomo, Elizabeth Vargas and Leland Vittert from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET, the network announced.

The CW Network will provide a simulcast of NewsNation's election night coverage from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET.

Host of "The Hill Sunday" and political editor Chris Stirewalt will contribute from NewsNation's studio in Washington, D.C., and throughout the evening "NewsNation Now's" Connell McShane will break down voting results and and provide "up-to-the-minute" reporting from the "Big Board," with prime time host Dan Abrams offering insight and analysis, according to NewsNation.
