EVENING: Warm and humid. Temps in the 80s

TONIGHT: Warm and humid. Low 72.

FRIDAY: Near record heat, stray afternoon/evening storms. High 95.

Thursday’s official high of 93 degrees marks the 4th straight day of 90 degree heat. Clear skies continue into this evening with no storms expected into tonight.

The hottest days expected in this persistent heat wave will be Friday through Sunday when afternoon highs are forecast to reach the mid/upper 90s. The record highs are 97-98 degrees the next few days, so we may challenge them. At the same time, storm chances return to the Midstate. These storms will be limited, but a few areas may be fortunate to get a passing downpour during the late afternoon and evening hours. Friday, Saturday and Sunday all present isolated storm chances.

We get a break from the extreme heat early next week. There will also be a noticeable drop in humidity Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be close to 90 degrees both days before returning to the mid 90s by Wednesday.
