Tracking of stolen vehicle from NYSP Aviation Unit leads to arrest of 3 teens
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police announced Thursday that three Buffalo teenagers were arrested and charged in connection with a stolen vehicle tracked by a New York State Police Aviation Unit Wednesday.
Around 9:30 p.m., a victim flagged down officers at the 2300 block of Fillmore Avenue after their vehicle was stolen. Buffalo police said the vehicle was found a short time later at Starin and Depew Avenues. The NYSP Aviation Unit tracked the vehicle from above.
The vehicle was allegedly found to be driving the wrong way on the Kensington Expressway at one point as the Aviation Unit followed its movements, and eventually stopped at the 900 block of Lafayette Avenue.
Three alleged teenage occupants of the vehicle were arrested and identically charged.
19-year-old Theodore Robinson, 19-year-old Jaquan Tillman and a 17-year-old boy were charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree grand larceny, and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
