Troupis and Chesebro are guilty. Don't let their lawyers convince you otherwise. | Letters

I read with interest the story regarding the fake electors scheme (“Records detail fake elector scheme,” March 5).

The two schemers, Jim Troupis and Kenneth Chesebro, would like us to think because they failed to admit wrongdoing in the settlement they are innocent. Attorney Matthew Fernholz, representing Toupis, would like us to believe the schemers have gone through hell.

MPS is near and dear to me. Here's why I can't support $252 million referendum

Fernholz is quoted as saying his client “did not deserve to be put through this politically driven civil lawsuit.” If one word is substituted in his quote —”justice” for “politically” — his quote would be more logical.

As part of the resolution in the case, “hundreds of pages of emails, text messages and other documents” were released showing the two “designed a plan days after” the 2020 election and “shared the plan with Trump campaign officials at the national level.”

If this isn’t an admission of guilt, I don’t know what is.
