3 QUESTIONS

...about improving your health this month

It’s Nov. 1, and between the election and the upcoming holidays, there’s a lot going on this month. Anthony asked wellness editor Erin Donnelly how to keep everything in check.

Anthony: It’s going to be a busy month. What can I do to protect my mental health?

Erin: For starters: Vote! Experts say it boosts well-being and makes people feel heard. If you’re dreading Thanksgiving with family, consider setting boundaries like avoiding stressful topics, or host a Friendsgiving instead.

Anthony: Any important appointments that I should make?

Erin: It’s Healthy Skin Month, so book a visit to a dermatologist for an annual full-body skin check if you haven’t had one this year. One more thing: Experts say everyone should be wearing sunscreen year-round, even on cold, cloudy autumn days.

Anthony: What’s a healthy dish worth making?

Erin: It’s World Vegan Month, so I’m loading my plates with something timely: cranberries, which are rich in antioxidants and fiber. Sprinkle dried cranberries on salads or whip up a cranberry and sage couscous as a side.
