Trump Calls Obama a ‘Jerk’ to Distract From His Obsession With Dictators

While speaking at a campaign rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Tuesday, Donald Trump threw a jab at former President Barack Obama, but not before openly praising authoritarian leaders of Russia and North Korea.

Trump touted Vladimir Putin as “tough” and admired Kim Jong Un‘s love for “producing nuclear weapons,” before bragging that the North Korean leader “thought Obama was a real jerk.”

“And I think he’s a real jerk, because I’ve watched him campaign over the last couple of days,” Trump further lamented. “What a divider he is. He divides this country. He couldn’t care less, him and his little group of people.”

Throughout his campaign, Trump has repeatedly doubled down on his aspirations to be a dictator, while also fantasizing about using the military on United States citizens who disagree with him, describing these “radical left” Americans as the “enemy within.”

When addressing supporters in Greensboro, Trump — who Politico reported was “exhausted” following multiple interview cancellations and media appearances — attempted to tack the descriptor on Obama, who is a decade and a half younger than him.

Obama has joined Vice President Kamala Harris on the campaign trial, stopping in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Michigan in support of Harris and other Democrats in recent weeks. On Tuesday, Obama took the stage alongside rapper Eminem at a lively Harris rally in Detroit.

“I‘m glad they’re bringing him out. The reason they’re bringing him out because he doesn’t even want to do it. I think he’s exhausted. I watched him talking. I think the guy’s exhausted,” Trump claimed. “And I never say a guy’s looking old. But he’s looking a little bit older, isn’t he? You know, there’s nothing wrong with that. But he’s exhausted.”

Trump has appeared to abandon all appearances of decorum in recent speeches, last Saturday rambling on about late golfer Arnold Palmer being well-endowed while calling Harris a “a shit vice president.” During a donor dinner this month, Trump also called the Democratic presidential nominee “retarded,” and while giving a speech at Coachella, he threatened to withhold wildfire aid if he is elected and California Gov. Gavin Newsom doesn’t follow his water solutions (but didn’t offer one himself). Trump, whose administration rolled back critical protections on American freshwater resources while he was in office, also failed to answer a question about the climate at a Univision town hall, opting instead to boast about his golf course.
