Trump campaigns in Oaks, PA as Harris plans Philadelphia stop this week
Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are stumping in southeastern Pennsylvania this week as the 2024 presidential election reaches its final weeks.
Trump is holding a town hall event at 6 tonight at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and Fairgrounds, where a Friday news release on the Republican candidate’s campaign website said he will be “addressing top concerns of Pennsylvania households” like inflation and jobs.
Harris, the Democratic nominee, is also expected to stump in Philadelphia at an event on Wednesday, according to a Sunday report by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Harris’ campaign website did not include any information about an upcoming event in Philadelphia and an email request for comment was not immediately returned.
Both candidates have focused on Pennsylvania this election year, with its 19 electoral college votes at stake in a race that recent polls indicate is almost neck-and-neck.
Can Shapiro help deliver PA for Harris: Josh Shapiro is rewriting the playbook. Will he deliver a win in Pennsylvania for Harris?
Average polling results from Real Clear Politics between Sept. 29 and Oct. 11 have Harris about 1.7 points ahead of Trump. Around this same time in 2020, Biden led Trump by 9.2 points.
Here’s everything you need to know about Trump’s campaign stop today.
Where is Trump going to be in Oaks, PA?
The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at 100 Station Ave. in Oaks, an unincorporated community in Upper Providence Township.
The center’s website says it is one of the largest suburban exhibition centers on the East Coast and offers up to 240,000 square feet of space on a single floor.
Grants could help solve cold case: Carol Dougherty, 9, was slain in Bristol in 1962. Why her killer may finally be ID'd.
When does the event start?
Doors open at the expo center at 2 p.m., but Trump isn’t expected to start speaking until four hours later.
I don't have tickets. Can I watch online?
Like most of Trump’s campaign events, the stop in Oaks is scheduled to stream on Trump’s official page online at Rumble.com.
Around the same time as Trump’s Montgomery County appearance, Harris will also campaign at the opposite end of the commonwealth at the Erie Insurance Arena with U.S. Sen. John Fetterman.
Monday will be the first time in 16 years that a presidential candidate has visited Erie.
