Trump goes after ‘negative press covfefe’ in botched midnight tweet
With an odd and incomplete tweet, President Trump became a viral sensation early Wednesday morning.
“Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” the president wrote shortly after midnight.
He was undoubtedly about to bash the media for its “coverage” of his White House. But the tweet was not deleted until shortly before 6 a.m. — more than five hours after the fumbled initial thought, and after more than 127,000 retweets.
It’s unclear what the commander in chief was trying to say. After scrapping the tweet, Trump encouraged his followers to try to complete his initial thought.
Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe" ??? Enjoy!

Sticking to a long-held strategy, both Trump and top spokesman Sean Spicer have ripped into the media since this weekend, when the president returned from a weeklong trip overseas.
Among other things, Trump attacked the press Sunday for its coverage of a special election in Montana and for using anonymous sources. (The White House frequently provides sources on the condition of anonymity.)
Trump also bashed the media for “disparaging & demeaning my use of social media.”
Regardless of what Trump meant to write, people on Twitter had a field day mocking “covfefe” throughout the morning.
what makes me saddest is that I know I'll never write anything funnier than #covfefe

You're all laughing, but perhaps the real Twitter is the covfefe we make along the way. pic.twitter.com/WksVYbYJxA

And the Merriam-Webster dictionary didn’t even attempt to define the term.
