Trump celebrates Mueller report with another 'Game of Thrones' meme
President Trump has embraced “Game of Thrones” yet again.
Just hours before the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s highly anticipated report on Russian interference in the 2016 election, Trump tweeted a photo of himself juxtaposed next to the hit HBO show’s signature fonts.
“NO COLLUSION. NO OBSTRUCTION. FOR THE HATERS AND THE RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS — GAME OVER,” the text read.
Trump’s tweet came shortly after Attorney General William Barr held a press conference summarizing the report’s key findings.
Barr emphasized that the report did not prove anyone from the Trump campaign conspired with Russia. However, he also noted that Mueller found “10 episodes” of possible obstruction from Trump but did not reach a decision one way or the other on whether a legal offense had occurred.
This wasn’t the first time Trump — or at least his social media staff — used “Game of Thrones” imagery. In November he posted an image that transformed the well-known saying “Winter Is Coming” into a warning for Iran: “SANCTIONS ARE COMING.”
In response, HBO said: "We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes." HBO repeated its opposition on Thursday.
HBO responds to Trump's GoT-themed tweet: “Though we can understand the enthusiasm for Game of Thrones now that the final season has arrived, we still prefer our intellectual property not be used for political purposes.” https://t.co/KOZ17dXhkz

Trump is clearly not heeding HBO’s preferences. Indeed, he also shared a “THE WALL IS COMING” image in January.
