Trump and Harris neck-and-neck in Arizona and Nevada a week out from Election Day, new polls show
WASHINGTON - Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are in a dead heat in two key swing states a week out from Election Day, according to new CNN polls conducted by SSRS.
Harris is leading Trump 48% to 47% among likely voters in Arizona, while Trump is leading Harris 48% to 47% among likely voters in Nevada.
The poll was conducted among 781 registered voters in Arizona and 683 registered voters in Nevada.
Both candidates were within the polls’ margins of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points among likely voters in Arizona and plus or minus 4.6 percentage points among likely voters in Nevada. The survey was conducted between Oct. 21 and Oct. 26.
When survey respondents were asked which candidate they trusted to handle the economy, Harris trailed Trump. Thirty-nine percent of likely voters in Arizona and 41% of likely voters in Nevada said they trusted her to handle the issue. In comparison, 50% of likely voters in Arizona and 50% of likely voters in Nevada trust Trump to handle the economy. The remaining respondents in both states said they trusted neither candidate.
Trump also led Harris on foreign policy and immigration in the surveys. But likely voters trusted Harris more than Trump to protect democracy and reproductive rights.
Fifty-one percent of Arizona respondents said they opted for Harris when it comes to reproductive rights, compared to 35% who said they trust Trump and 13% who said neither candidate. In Nevada, 53% chose Harris, 32% chose Trump and 15% said neither.
