Trump Tries to Convince America He’s Not Weird and Totally Normal at Town Hall
Donald Trump proved to be exceptionally prickly when discussing his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris‘ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, during a town hall in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
When speaking to Sean Hannity for the Fox News event, Trump boasted about reports that the governor’s family members had endorsed him. Soon, however, the former president — who has grown increasingly frustrated over Democrats’ “weird” line of attack aimed at him and his VP pick, J.D. Vance — took the opportunity to air out his grievances over the highly effective trash-talking.
“J.D. is not weird. He’s a solid rock. I happen to be a very solid rock. We’re not weird. We’re other things, perhaps, but we’re not weird,” Trump insisted.
“But he is a weird guy. He walks on the stage, there’s something wrong with that guy, and he called me ‘weird,'” he continued, fixating on Walz. “And then the fake-news media picks it up. That was the word of the day. ‘Weird. Weird. Weird.’ They were all going — but we’re not weird guys; we’re very solid people who want their country to be great again. It’s very simple.”

Sources previously told Rolling Stone that Trump has complained to advisers and confidants about how much attention the Democrats and Team Harris’ “weird” attacks have garnered in the media — including on his generally friendly network of choice, Fox News.
Last month, Trump even went so far as to accuse Harris’ campaign of colluding with the media to call him “weird.” The former president baselessly claimed, “They’re weird! You know what they do? They work with the press on coming up with the sound bite.”
As Harris’ campaign quickly gains momentum — scooping up major endorsements and millions in fundraising dollars — Trump has responded by freaking out over her crowd sizes and increasing his hateful rhetoric.
