Two-alarm fire knocked down in Southeast Portland commercial building

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire in the attic of a commercial building in Southeast Portland, officials announced Monday morning.

The fire near the intersection of SE Madison Street and 12th Avenue sparked shortly before 9:15 a.m., according to Portland Fire & Rescue. The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes.

“The reports are conditions clear on all floors so the fire seems to be exclusively in the attic of this three-story building with a complete basement,” officials said.

The cause and level of damage from the fire remains unclear.
