Two arrested following two-month Ponchatoula drug investigation

PONCHATOULA, La. (WGNO) — Two people were arrested on Friday, Aug. 16, after an investigation led to a drug bust in Ponchatoula.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives searched a home on 4th Street following a two-month drug investigation.
Independence drug bust leads to three arrests
During the search, TPSO detectives said they found six pounds of marijuana, ecstasy, hydrocodone, two guns, several iPhones and about $4,000 in cash.
According to the TPSO, “all of the items were in common areas accessible to a 4-year-old child present in the home.”
Following the search, detectives arrested 26-year-old Mayha Tucker and 36-year-old Jasmane Jones in connection with the investigation.
Former Tangipahoa Parish employee accused of malfeasance in office
Tucker and Jones were each booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, hydrocodone and ecstasy, possession of CDS while in the presence of a minor and two counts of possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled dangerous substance.
TPSO officials said Jones also faces two additional counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
