Two dead after motorcycle crashes into rock wall on Wisconsin State Highway 60

MARIETTA, Wis. (WFRV) – Two people are dead after a motorcycle crashed into a rock wall on State Highway 60 Monday evening.

According to a release, deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash on Monday, July 22nd, shortly before 10:15 p.m. at State Highway 60 and U.S. Highway 61 in the township of Marietta.

A preliminary investigation revealed that 43-year-old David Fillyaw of Muscoda was operating a motorcycle at an excessively high rate of speed westbound across the Wisconsin River Bridge on U.S. Highway 61 near Boscobel, with his passenger, 42-year-old Aleisha Bell of Muscoda.

Fillyaw reportedly traveled over the bridge, crossed both lanes of State Highway 60, and crashed head-on into a rock wall.

Fillyaw and Bell were both ejected from the severely damaged motorcycle, suffering life-threatening injuries. It was noted that both occupants were wearing helmets during the crash.

Despite wearing helmets, both Fillyaw and Bell died at the scene of the crash.
