Two dead after stolen car crashes in SE Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people died early Tuesday morning when they crashed a stolen car, authorities said.
According to Portland police, officers from Gresham attempted to stop a vehicle near Southeast 159th Avenue and the car took off.
Several minutes later, officers said they found the car near Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Division Street where it had crashed into another car and a utility pole.
Experienced pilot lost power, lands in Columbia River
In the car, officers said they found two men dead. A third man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries and stayed at the scene. Nearby residents lost power due to damage to the utility pole.
Following the crash, officers said they learned that the vehicle was reported stolen.
The incident is still under investigation and police ask anyone with information to contact them.
