Two killed in crash near Desire neighborhood
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a crash that left two men dead near the Desire neighborhood on Sunday, Aug. 18.
The NOPD reported that the crash happened near Powhatan and Velie streets around 5 a.m.

NOPD officials said an investigation shows that a Nissan was driving west on Interstate 10 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, drove off the interstate and hit a tree.
The driver of the Nissan and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Orleans Parish coroner will identify the victims.
