Two killed, thrown from Jeep: Troopers
GIBSONBURG, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in which two people were thrown from a 1997 Jeep Wrangler and killed, according to a press release.
The crash took place at about 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, near West Stevenson and North Patterson Streets in the village of Gibsonburg.

Troopers said the Jeep was traveling westbound on W. Stevenson Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The Jeep went off the roadway and hit a tree, according to the release. Troopers said, both the driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver has been identified as Andrew Widmer from Gibsonburg. The passenger has been identified as Emilio Chavez from Woodville. Officials said the driver was wearing a seatbelt and the passenger was not.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
