Two men arrested with 60 pounds of fentanyl pills in Southern Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two men were arrested in Jackson County after Oregon State Police said they found 60 pounds of fentanyl-laced pills in their vehicle.

According to authorities, an Oregon State trooper stopped a commercial motor vehicle tractor unit on Interstate 5 on Monday. During the stop, the trooper performed a consented search of the vehicle’s cab and found two five-gallon buckets full of blue pills.

Two suspects, Daniel Pena Gragoso, 42, and Josue Itzel Gomez, 28, were arrested and face possession and delivery of fentanyl charges.

In total, authorities said there were 60 pounds worth of pills which is the equivalent of around 276,000 pills.
