Two more Westchester restaurants are closing. Plus, news on an Italian spot's reopening

Spring has brought a rash of Westchester restaurant closures. No sooner had I reported on Rye House in Port Chester ending its 10-year run May 19 that I heard of two more: An Italian steakhouse in Pelham and a two-year-old New American eatery in White Plains.

Plus there are rumblings about others that are not ready to announce their plans. So far, that's a total of more than a dozen dining establishments shuttered since 2024. Read below for news of the latest.

On the plus side, Piero's, which I reported on earlier, is now reopening with new management and a new menu. And there are still more openings than closings overall — at least 16, with a lot opening over the last few weeks. See stories on Saigon Table in Rye, Peter's Steakhouse in Eastchester, Town House Kitchen + Drinks in New Rochelle (basically a rebrand) and Jill's in Mamaroneck.

Macelleria Italian Steakhouse, Pelham

In town for five years, this steakhouse closed May 17. Owner Babshkim Byberi is moving on to other ventures. Macelleria Italian Steakhouse Armonk, in northern Westchester for three years and owned by his cousin Kreshnik Byberi, remains open.

Archie Grand, White Plains

The signage is gone outside Archie Grand in White Plains with a poster in the window saying "A new dining experience is coming to White Plains this summer." The restaurant, which closed abruptly with no social media messaging, had been on Mamaroneck Avenue since January 2022. More about this to come.

Piero's is coming back!

After ambivalent signage and no social media annoucement — but a statement from Owner Andre Rosaspina — Piero's in Harrison has now posted information regarding their reopening with new management and a new menu. The chef, however, remains the same.

More: Shake Shack to open its fourth location in Westchester. Find out where

The Italian restaurant, which has been in Harrison for eight and a half years (and 21 years prior in Port Chester) is undergoing renovations, according to their recent Instagram post, and should open within the month. Stay tuned to their social media for updates. 123 Halstead Ave. Harrison, 914-937-2904
