Two people injured after being struck by truck in Independence
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in Independence, Missouri.
The incident was reported just after 12:30 p.m. in the area of 78-Highway (23rd Street) and Savage Street, according to the Independence Police Department.

Police said the crash happened when the driver of a 2017 Ram 2500 was turning east on 78-Highway from Savage Street and struck two people.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, according to police.
Both pedestrians were taken to an area hospital where they were treated for injuries. One person remains in critical condition at this time.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
