Two Rivers community rallies to support seven-year-old battling cancer with fundraising events
TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – Local 5 introduced Silas, the seven-year-old boy from Two Rivers battling cancer last week. On Tuesday, proceeds from the Two Rivers Junior Raiders football game went toward helping the young fighter.
The Two Rivers Junior Raiders matched and donated the 50/50 raffle and gate proceeds for all sporting events on Sept. 17 toward helping Silas and his mother, Emily Keeling.
Local 5 News caught up with Keeling, who said she and Silas are grateful for the community’s support.
“Being his mom, I’m grateful for the community that we live in and for everyone rallying around Silas; that means a lot to me,” said Keeling.
