Utah State University dismisses executive associate athletics director Amy Crosbie
LOGAN, Utah (ABC4) — Less than one week after Utah State University announced its “intent to terminate” head football coach Blake Anderson, the university dismissed Amy Crosbie from the school’s athletics department.
While the university said it would not comment further on the situation, it confirmed that Crosbie was let go on Monday.
“We can confirm she was dismissed today, July 8, and we won’t be providing further comment on this matter,” USU’s Logan Wilbur told ABC4.com.
The university did not disclose the reasoning behind Crosbie’s dismissal.
In addition to announcing its intent to fire Anderson last week, the university fired Jerry Bovee, who was serving as the associate vice president and deputy athletic director of external affairs. Austin Albrecht, the football director of player development and community, was also fired.
According to the Associated Press, Albrecht and Bovee were fired “for violations of university policies related to the reporting of sexual and domestic violence and failures of professional responsibilities.”
Crosbie was serving as the executive associate athletics director for internal affairs and senior woman administrator at USU for about five years. She was also on the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee at USU.
“In her role, she oversees compliance, academics and strength & conditioning, in addition to providing Title IX oversight, and sport supervision for gymnastics, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track & field/cross country, and volleyball,” her page on the staff directory said.
Crosbie was a chair of the university’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and “fulfilled academic duties” for several different sports at the university, according to the directory.
Crosbie graduated from Utah State in 2002 with her bachelor’s degree, and returned to the university after working in the athletics department at Weber State University for nearly a decade.
